SDG 13 – Prayer Wall

Climate Action

What does the Bible teach?
The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (Genesis 2:15)
I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce. But you came and defiled my land and made my inheritance detestable. (Jeremiah 2:7)

What should we pray for?
For those around the world who are suffering and facing hardship due to environmental changes. May they experience a sense of hope, and be able to experience real improvement.
For a sense of responsibility in the hearts of people to care for this planet. From individuals to companies to governments, may we all exercise our influence to do good, making small and profound changes, and to make a stronger commitment for a cleaner environment. May the impact of our actions and policies be kept in mind and be a key consideration in this process.
For Christians to understand that we are stewards of God’s creation and to be an example for others. May we comprehend God’s vision for our role in taking care of the planet and act upon it.

What can we do?
Air Travel: Use air travel as little as possible and avoid domestic flights. Consciously reduce your CO2 consumption.
Online: Reduce your electronic device usage and your “online and streaming times”. You do not only save electricity, but also emissions.
Finances: Find out about sustainable banks and their investment priorities. Switch to them and invest your money sustainably.
