SDG 11 – Prayer Wall

Sustainable Cities and Economies

What does the Bible teach?
Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. (Jeremiah 29:7)

What should we pray for?
For all people to be able to find affordable, sustainable housing, and that slums will be a thing of the past.
For government authorities in developing countries and all stakeholders of development aid. Pray that they will be moved by the cries of those living in poor conditions and that they will respond in just and compassionate ways.
For cities to be integrated, safe and environmentally sustainable places. Pray that we can change our set-in ways.

What can we do?
Neighbors: Get to know your neighbors. Listen to their needs, especially those of people in vulnerable situations. Pray for them.
Reusables: If you are buying your food or coffee to go, bring your own containers for them.
Sharing: Use sharing opportunities for cars and (e-)cargo bikes, for example, but also for large and small devices or for fruit from your garden.
